Household hazardous waste is also accepted at Lorton during limited hours.
Hazardous Waste Hours: Thursday: 8 a.m. - Noon
Friday: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Sunday: ClosedLatex paint that has dried can be safely disposed of in the regular trash. (TIP: You can pour latex paint onto an old newspaper. Once dry, roll up the newspaper and dispose of it in the trash.)

Keep it Green Computer Recycling is a division of ServiceSource and is located at 6295 Edsall Rd in Alexandria, VA 22312 (map). Equipment can be dropped off between 8:30am to 4pm weekdays. For further information or to arrange for a large pick-up call 703-461-6153.
Donated computers are disassembled so their component parts can be reused. Most materials are accepted for free, but there is a $10 charge per monitor to defray the cost of handling the materials and properly recycling the lead found in cathode ray tubes. There is also a fee of $0.20 per pound for large scale items such as copiers and floor model printers. Those donating computers will receive documentation for tax purposes.
