Every swimmer is a winner - from our Young Dolphins who swim across the diving well (under close supervision) to our 8-under through 15-18 year old group who all move through the water like - well, Dolphins.

Dolphin team members compete in dual swim meets conducted on Saturday mornings. Strokes available to each swimmer are freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke, individual medley and relays. Ribbons are awarded for placing in the various events, and for achieving personal best times. A "developmental" meet is conducted on Monday evenings to allow swimmers to participate in a stroke they did not swim the previous Saturday. A select group of swimmers earn the opportunity to compete against the best swimmers in the NVSL at divisional meets and all-star events.

The summer swim season typically begins with afternoon practice from late May to approximately mid June. Morning practice and the dual meets begin once school finishes and run from mid June to late July. There is plenty of fun to be had in addition to the dual meets. Friday evening pep rallies, an ice cream social, internal team fun competitions such as cake decorating and the very popular end-of-season banquet where individual achievements are recognized and trophies, pictures, etc are handed out. Registration fees for the 2008 summer season are $100.00 for the first swimmer, $90.00 for the second and $60.00 for each additional sibling.

Dolphin swimmers have an opportunity to participate in an instructional program known as Winter Swim. Basic and intermediate stroke techniques, starts and turns are taught in Winter Swim, giving the swimmers a head start on the summer season.

The swim team offers an excellent opportunity for our children to make friends, learn to swim, and stay in shape. Come out and join the fun!
